The mission of the South Beach Chamber Ensemble is to promote and perform chamber music in all its diverse forms, from its origins in the distant past, to the varied cultural creations being produced today, bringing together performers, composers and audiences to experience the beauty and intimacy of the human spirit. View Personal BioMichael AndrewsA native of Wisconsin, Michael Andrews attended the University of Wisonsin and University of Illinois. For five years Mr. Andrews played with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Caracas, Venezuela, taught at the orchestra?s conservatory and toured Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Returning to the US he taught and performed at the Wausau Conservatory of Music in Wisconsin. He has played in the Naples Philharmonic, Southwest Florida Philharmonic, Symphony of the Americas and the Miami Symphony. Michael founded the South Beach Chamber Ensemble in 1997. In 2005 he played at the Villa-Lobos Museum in Rio de Janeiro, part of Music in Motion: Miami to Rio. In 2006 he created an annual chamber music festival, South Beach Up North, in his hometown, Wausau, WI. In 2007 he toured Brazil and Argentina with the second Music in Motion project. Mr. Andrews began teaching with the Miami Music Project in 2012. He is looking forward to playing in China at the end of 2015.Tell a Friend
