About Us
The South Florida Symphony performs nearly 50 Masterworks, Pops, Tropical Beats and summer Chamber concerts each year in Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties. The Symphony in the Schools Program serves as many as 3,000 children annually. Founded in 1997 in Key West by Cuban American music director and conductor Sebrina María Alfonso, the Symphony is comprised of some of the nation’s most sought-after professional musicians and world-renowned soloists and consistently receives high acclaim from residents and visitors to Florida seeking cultural respite through orchestral music.
